NovaLab invites you on an extraordinary journey to help create a unique planet in your own artistic style for our expanding WEB3 Space Exploration storyline.
What We Offer:
A canvas like no other to imprint your unique artistic signature onto a Planet's terrain!
Your unique artistic signature will help develop the terrain, colors, and textures of your very own planet.
We will commission each artist to contribute the following:
• 1x 8k texture (Aspect ratio: 2:1)
• 1x Unique Artwork
(if you are willing to contribute more than 1 piece, amazing! These works will be minted to an ERC-7160 contract so the collector can choose which artwork to pin and display for your particular planet)
Whether you're a master of glitch art, generative designs, pixel art, abstract paintings, photography or another unique style, we welcome your brilliance. Dream up the weird and wonderful and let's see what worlds your imagination can unlock!
Collaborating artists will be commissioned through proceeds from our auctions of mission-specific Spacecraft NFTs.
Our community will need to purchase a Spacecraft NFT to travel to your planet. We take the proceeds from that specific Spacecraft NFT sale and commission your work. Here's our commitment to fairness and transparency:
50% of the auction revenue goes directly to you, the artist.
50% is allocated towards NovaLab's operational and development costs, ensuring the sustainability and growth of our shared universe.

The Process:
Create a unique Planet Terrain Texture
Commissioned artists will work with NovaLab designers to create a tileable terrain map of your planet in a 2:1 aspect ratio. This terrain map does not need to look like the example shown here, it can be anything in your own style and is limited only by your imagination! 2:1 aspect ratio is required.

Next, we will take your unique terrain map and create a 3D rotating planet with your image. Think of this as the “cover image” of your gallery. In addition to this cover image, you can create unique attributes of the planet…
Planet Name, Planet Type, Speed of rotation, etc..
Below the Surface
Because of the multi-metadata functionality of the ERC-7160 contract your Planet artwork will be minted on, this will expand the capabilities of the NFT, allowing for a richer and more interactive collector experience:
Multiple Metadata URIs: Unlike traditional NFTs that link to a single metadata URI, the 7160 standard allows each NFT to link to numerous metadata URIs. Similar to Transient Labs Doppelganger contract, with one key difference: the metadata arrays are specific to tokens and not the contract. Now, you can have a collection of NFTs, each with its own metadata array, meaning artists can create collections and add multiple aspect ratios for each artwork, all in the same collection!
This means one NFT can hold and display various images or files! Supported File types include JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, HTML, GLB, MP4, and MP3. The max size for each file is 300 MB, while there is no limit on the array.
Customizable Displays with Pinning: The pinning feature of 7160 is particularly unique. By default, the token metadata will always show the latest metadata option added to the array. Pinning allows collectors to ‘pin’ a specific URI, making it the primary display for the NFT regardless of new metadata being added. As expected, the NFT owner can switch between all the artworks available within the NFT whenever they want.
Now the fun part!
If anyone hopes to visit your planet and collect its valuable resources (your artwork), they’re going to need a proper SPACECRAFT!
NovaLab will be funding this Planet commission project with revenue generated from our upcoming SPACECRAFT NFT launch.
Once your Planet is discovered by our community, a special SPACECRAFT NFT will be minted and released (Sales mechanics such as Auction/Buy Now, Edition, or 1of1 all to be determined.)
When the SPACECRAFT NFT is sold, it will be launched with its coordinates set for your world.
Once the crew arrives, the holder of that particular SPACECRAFT will be able to collect the resources (artwork) from your Planet, and the Planet NFT will be transferred to their wallet along with other resources (artwork) that NovaLab will contribute as well.
But the story doesn’t need to end there! Because of the ERC-7160 contract, you will be able to continue to add artwork to the NFT - totally optional, but an amazing way to keep the story going and engage with your collectors!
